We’re excited to introduce you to a lovely couple in the Norweld community, showcasing their unique story and passion for the outdoors and traveling Australia. In this featured post, we will highlight their story and their future plans as they travel around Australia in their Norweld build!

Meet: Jess & Sam

We’re Jess and Sam. A young couple from Regional Victoria who decided during covid that we wanted to travel Australia. After waiting 12 months for our 2020 V8 Landcruiser 79 series, we decided to rent our house out and make that happen. We love camping off grid and getting off the beaten track so needed a vehicle that would allow us to do so comfortably.

After a lot of planning and preparing for our trip (which started out as a 12-month lap) we finally left home in April 2023. In the 9 months we have been travelling so far, we have not made it past the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia – it is safe to say that we are taking our time and have quickly realised this is going to be much longer that just a 12 month lap of Australia!

Behind our Graphite 79 we tow an Off Road 18.6ft Zone Base caravan which is our home on wheels and our base camp when we are exploring. We also travel with our 3.5m Quintrex roof top tinny on the roof of the Norweld Canopy – this allows us to explore even more remote hidden gems and hopefully catch dinner for a few nights. Sam has whipped up a home-made boat loader that sits on the Norweld multi-rack and we use a small winch to get the boat on and off the car.
