When the team at Diesel & Dirt Contracting needed a reliable, purpose-built tray and canopy solution for their fleet, they knew they could rely on Norweld. 

Initially ordering 12 ute trays and canopies for their fleet, the Diesel & Dirt team now has a large fleet of 35 vehicles, all built by Norweld.

Diesel & Dirt Operations Manager Al Kristensen said Norweld was the obvious choice for their team, combining both functionality and aesthetics. 

“We liked the innovative ideas that Norweld have, and the ability to customise what we wanted, the way we wanted to make it work for our team,”Al said.

“Doing our own research over the years, we’ve seen Norweld as a fundamental brand in the recreational market, it was clear to see the business had longevity and the products were much more aesthetically pleasing than traditional fleet options.” 

Travelling thousands of kilometres across WA and SA from hot, robust environments like mine sites in the Pilbara to salty gold mining towns, the fleet needed to withstand all conditions.  

“Everyone loves operating out of the Norweld set-ups, they’re nice and compact with plenty of space for tools. The addition of the upright fridge was also well received by our teams,”Al said.

“Structurally they’re second to none.” 

Beyond just product performance, the Diesel & Dirt team have built a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the Norweld team, collaborating and supplying feedback on the products. 

“The business relationship isn’t strictly commercial. It’s been based around innovation and ideas, particularly for the mining industry,”Al said.

“They’ve been great to take a lot of our comments on board and work with us to come up with and refine the best products. That’s been one of the best elements I’ve loved the most.” 

Al, along with Diesel & Dirt Director, Brock Johnson, both loved the set-ups so much that they now have Norweld ute trays and canopies on their own vehicles for recreational use.  

“We’ve always wanted Norweld products for our recreational use, so it went hand in hand,” Al said.
