Outback Cleanups Australia
At Norweld, we take pride creating trusted, Australian Made products that help people work, explore and live with confidence – no matter where the journey takes them. But for those adventures to continue, and for our national parks and remote corners of Australia to stay open for everyone to enjoy, the whole team at Norweld understands we need to look after the country we all call home.
That’s why it was a no-brainer to back Boe and Outback Cleanups Australia, whose mission is to remove rubbish from remote beach, bush and marine environments right across the country.
Since 2019, they’ve removed over 20 million pieces of rubbish – which equates to more than 80,000kg of waste. Pretty alarming isn’t it!? And they’re not just about picking it up. The team are data logging every piece of rubbish they collect to better understand where it’s coming from to help tackle the problem at its source.
“I’ve always felt a really strong connection with this country… look after the country and the country will look after you. I’ve felt like the country was saying that to me from a very young age, and I heard it and listened,” said Boe.
The Norweld difference
When it comes to aluminium ute trays and canopies, Norweld builds gear touch enough to handle the harshest of conditions. So when Boe from Outback Cleanups Australia needed a tray that could keep up with his team’s remote and rugged work, we knew he wouldn’t find anything better than the Deluxe Plus Tray.
With a 4mm high-tensile aluminium one-piece floor, heavy-duty stainless catches and extruded sideboards and tailgate with built-in stiffeners, the Deluxe Plus Tray is designed to excel in the remote, rugged conditions Boe and his team tackle daily.
Boe admits he’s seen first hand what happens when cheaper setups let you down.
“I’ve seen canopies and trays break in half on people’s dream trips. I didn’t want to be in that boat. I wanted gear that gets us there, gets the job done and gets us home.”
This, combined with his passion for supporting Australian Made and Australian quality, means for Boe it’s about investing once and investing right. When you’re heading to remote areas for work or adventure, cheap gear is going to cost you more in the long run. He doesn’t see it as expensive, he sees it as an investment.
“By the time you’re onto your second, third or fourth build, you’ve already paid for half of it, because your Norweld gear’s still going strong.”
And when you’re running a fleet of vehicles cleaning up some of the most remote places, having gear you can rely on, backed by local service and nationwide support sure makes all the difference.
On top of its strength and reliability, Boe was especially keen on the rust-resistant aluminium build and the extra room compared to his old service body canopy. His 40L Under Tray Water Tank freed up loads more space in the tray, while water and dust-resistant Under Tray Toolboxes are now packed with grease guns, tools, rags, recovery gear and spares, making the most of space that went unused in his old setup.
The lighter, stronger build means Boe and the team can now haul more rubbish on every cleanup run than they ever could with their old setup. And at the back, the 200kg-rated Rear Trundle Drawer is now the perfect place to store sinkers, lead and heavier items they don’t want moving around in the tray.
We’re proud to back Outback Cleanups, a cause that lines up with our values of looking after the people, places and country we all love. Because the better we treat it now, the better it’ll be for the next generation. It’s a great partnership built on shared purpose and as Boe puts it:
“Absolute dream come true to work alongside the incredible team and an outstanding product… We’re absolutely stoked!”
