Meet Riley Denning from RD Auto Electrics

We’d like to introduce you to Riley Denning from RD Auto Electrics, a specialist off-grid touring solutions business based out of Bunbury, WA.

Riley’s passion for all things 4WD and camping started young and after building his first 4WD in his late teens, he quickly realised his real interest was in auto electrical. That passion turned into a career and in 2016 he had launched RD Auto Electrics.

Today, Riley designs, supplies and installs lithium power packages for vehicles and caravans which he absolutely loves!

“I love helping people turn their dreams of exploring this amazing country into reality. My power systems let families escape crowded, overpriced caravan parks and enjoy off-grid locations without ever compromising on power.”

About Riley’s Norweld Build

Over the years, Riley has worked on thousands of vehicles and has seen almost every setup known to man, but it was the 79 Series LandCruiser that always stood out to him. When the time came time to build his own V8 79 Series Dual Cab, the choice of tray he said was simple: Norweld, for ‘their strength, build quality and how nice they look on the vehicle”. Riley opted for the Elite Tray for this rig.

“It not only looks great on the vehicle, but it’s extremely functional and ready for a canopy in the future. The water tank, rear drawer and toolboxes make the vehicle useful even without a full canopy – also the ability to carry two full-size 35-inch spares was also really important for me,” he said.

Even though this is Riley’s sixth work/touring vehicle, it’s actually his first with an open tray. And even without a canopy on yet, Riley says the Elite Tray’s versatility has impressed him so much already – it’s perfect for work, short trips and adventures with his Kelpie, Dusty.

Riley has already gone ahead and ordered his first Norweld canopy, scheduled for installation in March 2026, completing the setup for his touring trip up north to Karijini and then across to Dirk Hartog Island later in the year.
