Exploring the Coral Coast with Sean Scott
Sean Scott, a well-known Australian photographer, recently hit the road on the 1,250km Coral Coast Highway from Perth to Exmouth. He shared how his trusty Norweld Canopy elevated his trip, making every moment comfortable, organised and more enjoyable. Check out his impressive photos, firsthand experiences and see why this canopy is a must-have for anyone looking to explore and capture Australia’s stunning landscapes.
Why the Coral Coast?
The Coral Coast of Western Australia is an off-road adventurer’s paradise. With thousands of kilometres of off-road tracks along the stunning coastline, Sean Scott explains, “It’s like mixing in the Great Barrier Reef with Fraser Island with plenty of surfing beaches where you can find a campsite on your own and have a fire and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean.”
Sean Scott was particularly excited about visiting Red Bluff on Quobba Station. Located 125km north of Carnarvon, he said the idyllic spot offers incredible landscapes, great surf, whales, sharks and excellent fishing—essentially, it’s “Pretty much paradise.”
The Norweld Canopy, a perfect companion
Paired with his Lotus Caravan, the Norweld Canopy has been essential for Sean Scott, providing everything he needs: cases for camera gear, drawers for his tripod, a fridge, a portable bar for happy hour anywhere, fresh water for rinsing off, cooking facilities and even a roof tent for spontaneous overnight stays away from the van.
- Durable for remote travel
The Norweld features he finds most useful are the water tank and the capacity to meet all of his power needs. “The water tank is great and the ability to house a fridge meets all my power needs. I am constantly using the chargers, keeping my drone batteries charging 24/7.”
- Functional for day-to-day needs
The Norweld Canopy serves as a home away from home for Sean Scott and once set up, he says it’s a dream. Often starting his day before sunrise, he loves the fact he can easily pull over at beautiful spots to make tea or coffee while shooting the early morning light.
- Versatile for staying organised
To stay organised and efficient on the road, Sean Scott appreciates that everything in the Norweld Canopy has its place. With batteries always charging, an easily accessible fridge and dedicated drawers for his photography and camping gear, Sean Scott is always ready for the next adventure. “Anything I could possibly need for work or play is there ready to go in easily accessed locations.”
- Stylish and secure
The dust-proof design of the Norweld Canopy is so important for keeping Sean Scott’s camera gear safe and secure in any environment. “Knowing that everything will remain in place and protected, no matter where I am, is paramount,” he explains.
Every trip validates the Norweld Canopy’s value. This versatility allows him to extend his stays in breathtaking locations and decide spontaneously if he wants to spend the night.
Advice for fellow photographers
Sean’s advice for photographers or adventurers considering a Norweld canopy is simple: it’s a game-changer:
“It has given me the biggest advantage of always being prepared with all my gear. It ensures I never find myself lacking something, enabling me to live, work and play in any remote Australian location. When I have to fly and work somewhere remote, it’s so hard and I miss having my canopy setup like you wouldn’t believe.”
Always seeking new adventures and photographic opportunities, Sean Scott thrives in the remote and rugged landscapes he loves. His extensive travels across Australia, in particular his recent Coral Coast Australia trip, underscore the importance of a well-equipped off-road 4WD vehicle. The Norweld Canopy, with its functional, durable and versatile design, enhances safety, organisation and the overall travel experience for Sean Scott and fellow adventurers alike.
