After nearly a decade with his first 79 Series, Steve is stepping into his brand new V8 79 Series LandCruiser in a stunning silver pearl. Unlike Steve’s previous build which he slowly modified over the years, his new rig has been extended, upgraded and fitted out pre-rego, giving him the ultimate touring and fishing setup, straight out of the workshop.
Based in Cairns and still working hard running a full-time building business alongside his True North Adventures, Steve said this build wasn’t about reinventing the wheel, it was more about refining what already worked for him.
“My last car served me well for nine years and nailed the essentials. The new setup just takes everything up a level – more comfort, storage and capability.”

The Talon lock barrel replaces all the canopy locks so they all work on the same key, which adds convenience and peace of mind knowing your gear is safe and secure. And it’s not just the canopy. His boat trailer, boat locks, MAXTRAX even the spare wheel – all on the same key.
“One key instead of ten different keys. That’s real peace of mind when you’re parked at a boat ramp or a remote campsite. And anyone who’s ever lost a tow hitch at a ramp knows how quickly things can go wrong. Having that lock there is pretty bloody good.”
